Edward F. Cahill, JD, CFP, CLU, ChFC, of New York Life and Eagle Strategies LLC in Beverly, is the current president of the Essex County Estate Planning Council. George M. Cahill and Bowen have decades of experience in the estate-planning field and both were nominated for the designation by fellow members of the ECEPC.

The AEP® designation is a graduate level specialization in estate planning, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. The AEP® designation is available to attorneys (JD), Chartered Life Underwriters® (CLU®), Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Certified Financial Planners™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultants® (ChFC®), and Certified Trust and Financial Advisors (CTFA). It is awarded by the NAEPC to recognize estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation and character. An AEP® designee must embrace the team concept of estate planning and adhere to the NAEPC Code of Ethics, as well as participate in a yearly renewal and recertification process.

The Essex County Estate Planning Council holds regular educational and networking meetings on the North Shore. The Council’s next meeting will take place at Spinelli’s of Lynnfield on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7:30am, and will feature Maureen Kelliher, CFA, of Cambridge Trust Company, who will discuss the “Economic Forecast for 2016.” Members, guests and prospective members are welcome.
